CJPA Conference
Educates & Entertains Asilomar Conference Grounds, Monterey California October, 2007
Those who attended
the conference were treated to two wonderful
sessions headed by Warden Robert L.
Green and Carrie Hill. Both speakers were able
to provide timely information and education
interlaced
with great humor and good rapport with those in
attendance. We were very fortunate to have such
talented,
experienced and entertaining speakers at the
conference.
Warden Robert L. Green has 23 years of
experience in local corrections and is committed
to the principles of
community collaboration. Robert was the key note
speaker on re-entry programs, leadership and
program
management. He was able to bring his wealth of
experience and knowledge in leadership
development
and management and insight from his membership
as the American Jail Association Board of
Directors
board member, and his consultation for the
National
Institute of Corrections and the American
Correctional
Association. Robert’s many years of experience
provided
a springboard for a very entertaining and
informative
workshop. His humor and wisdom kept the
conference
participants engaged and he was willing to take
the time
to answer questions so that everyone walked away
with
having learned something new.
Carrie Hill tackled the controversial topic of
Legal Issues
and Religious Practices as it pertains to
corrections.
Carrie is an experienced speaker and a
practicing Attorney in private practice in
Minnesota. She was able to
address specific topics such as legal updates,
First Amendment Rights and Religious Practices.
Carrie was
able to interject her personal wit and charisma
so that the workshop was both educational and
entertaining.
All in attendance were able to absorb Carrie’s
expansive knowledge on these topics and will be
able to go
back to their facilities better prepared to
handle religious practice concerns with
sensitivity and insight.
